Samsung Captivate Clear Snap-On Faceplate Protective Case

Thursday, October 14th, 2010

The protection I usually recommend and prefer myself is either a protective film like Zagg, or a silicone case/Zagg combination. The latter giving the best protection but adding a bit more bulk.

This is a clear, silicone snap-on case for the Captivate. It protects against scratches, bumps and shock damage. As mentioned earlier you can add a screen protector like Zagg for optimal protection. Cases like these are a breeze to use, just snap them on and you’re ready to go. Removing them is naturally just as easy.

The case features cut-outs for ports, buttons and features. The lightweight design is thin, but extremely sturdy. Since the case is see-through, it mostly keeps the original look of the cell phone, something I usually find to be a positive thing.

Get this today and you will never regret it.

Zagg Invisible Shield (Full Body) for Samsung Captivate

Sunday, August 22nd, 2010

So, you’ve bought the new Android monster from AT&T? You really should waste no time when it comes to protecting it, I know I didn’t when I bought my Samsung Galaxy S (pretty much the euro version). The Samsung Captivate screen is just too good to look at and you don’t want a silly scratch to ruin that.

Zagg InvisibleShield is definately the solution you’re looking for. The package I’m referring to here is full body, meaning that it covers front and back of the cell phone. The full body investment is a small one and it protects so well, so go for it instead of only a screenguard.

The Zagg InvisibleShield is scratch proof and uses nano-memory technology (I think it’s the same as in Star Wars). The InvisibleShield actually comes form the military, where it was used to protect high-speed helicopter blades from dust, dirt and debris (so if you rotate your Samsung Captivate really quick, it will be fine).

The InvisibleShield adds no bulk and improves grip. Once you’ve applied it (which is really easy), you will not be able to see much of it, it really is invisible. If you would like to remove it for some reason, it comes right off without leaving any residue. It comes with a lifetime guarantee, so you can probably use it for your next cell phone too.

Samsung Captivate Cover and Screenguard

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

After mentioning Samsung Captivate I feelt that it’s natural to present some Samsung Captivate accessories as well. When it comes to cell phone covers and cases I myself feel that there are two, maybe three ways to go. One possibility is a cover and a separate screenguard combined. Another is a full body shield solution. The third, which I don’t like too much myself is a case or a pouch that you have to open and close each time you want to use the cell phone.

I would like to begin with the cover+screenguard option. This is the best one if you want to make your phone more personal since there are covers with alot of different designs. I’m presenting one below, but the same company delivers many more of the same cover, just with a different graphical design.

The covers are made from high quality vinyl and they prevent scratching and absorb some chock. They are easy to attach and remove. They leave no sticky residue after removal. They add very little bulk to the cell phone, which I value alot.

The thing about these covers is that they don’t cover the screen of the cell phone, so you should supplement with a screenguard for added protection. The XtremeGUARD screenguard is a high quality, precision cut shield that works very well. It’s durable, scratch free and lasts for 2-3 years. You put on the screenguard first and then the cover. This makes up a really well protected cell phone.

Another great solution (especially if you want ass littled added bulk as possible), is a full body shield. I’ve previously mentioned the Samsung Galaxy S Zagg Shield which is great, and the same is available for Samsung Captivate. I can really recommend this one. Read my previous post for tips about this one.

The third possibility is a case or a pouch that needs opening and closing each time. I find this to be the most annoying solution and I refuse to show such a product, find it yourself if you want it ;)
